And despite that, we still don&#8217;t like it.<\/p>\n<p>Between November 2006 and January 2007, the City of New York has brought down over <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gothamist.com\/archives\/2007\/01\/06\/buildings_depar_1.php\">59 illegal banners<\/a> on construction sheds.  In that same period, Citibank was forced to remove all <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amny.com\/news\/local\/am-chase1214,0,3154742.story\">illegal sidewalk projections<\/a> at branches around Manhattan.  And now, years into New York City&#8217;s war on graffiti writers and protesters, after we&#8217;ve watched our friends be detained, arrested, beat, fined, tried, and given real jail sentences, not a single corporate toy from any ad firm has had to do any time. <\/p>\n<p>This could mean only one thing. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/front\/story\/489126p-411812c.html\"> They&#8217;ve called off the law<\/a>. <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Open_city\">Open City<\/a>. Let&#8217;s all get to work.<\/p>\n<p>Drink it straight from the hose at the <a href=\"http:\/\/antiadvertisingagency.com\/\">Anti-Advertising Agency<\/a><br \/>\nor <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=rboHOj1FgYk\">here<\/a> on youtube.<\/p>\n<p>This is the first collaboration between the <a href=\"http:\/\/antiadvertisingagency.com\/\">Anti-Advertising Agency<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/graffitiresearchlab.com\">Graffiti Research Lab<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Bit and modified from <a href=\"http:\/\/abstractor.tv\/\">Ji Lee&#8217;s Abstractor TV<\/a>. We used black foam core ($10\/sheet) cut with a laser cutter  &#8211; but this project can be done with an x-acto blade, black paper, and duct tape.
